COVID-19 Update

Bostwick Baptist Family,

This is Bro. David. The world is in great turmoil, as we all know. I have spent much time in prayer and thought about our services. At this time, we will have Sunday morning worship service and Wednesday night prayer meeting only. We will not have Sunday School, Sunday night service, or TeamKIDS.

We will have our doors open Sunday morning and Wednesday night for all who feel lead to come and worship as the body of Christ. Please be lead by the Holy Spirit to do what is best for you and your family. Those who come are not more spiritual than those who do not. Nor, are those who stay home more spiritual than those who come to church. Our lives are to be lived for God’s Glory, not our selfish pride in judging others and their motives.

When I think about the week between Palm Sunday and Easter it was a huge time in history. God was doing an incredible work for all who would believe making a path for mankind to have an ever-growing personal relationship with our Creator.

However, those who followed Jesus the closest did not understand what God was doing nor what Jesus was saying. What they did understand they did not like. They had the last Passover meal that we know as communion to remember the body and blood of Jesus.

Jesus then washed their feet in the amazing powerful demonstration of His willingness to serve and set an example for us to follow. Then He spent much of the evening teaching. Even though the disciples could not fully understand all that was taught, Jesus was proclaiming total victory. Jesus ends this teaching and example setting with these words, “These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” From there Jesus went into the longest, sweetest prayer recorded in Scripture. Much of the prayer is for us in the world.

The reality is the world is in turmoil. However, the reality for the true born again believer is our lives, our hope, and our futures are in the wonderful nail-scarred hands of Jesus. The very Jesus who offers peace, produced by the Holy Spirit to all true believers.
