The foster care crisis is growing every day. A report put out by the Department of Children and Families on July 31, 2019, states 23,374 children are separated from their parents. These children need a safe place to go while their parents get services. We at Bostwick Baptist recognize the Church’s responsibility to these children. Everyone can help in some way. That is why we started the Foster Closet. But we also have opened one of our offices to the staff at One More Child. This has allowed a Licensing Specialist to be closer to the families in our county. This proximity has allowed more families to become licensed foster parents, including some in our church. We are thankful for this opportunity to work alongside them and hope that more families will be able to answer the call of foster parenting.
